About the role

The Collection Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the collections team, ensuring that all collection activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. This role involves managing team performance, developing strategies to improve collections, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of collection agents to achieve performance targets.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, share updates, and address challenges.
    • Monitor team performance metrics and individual agent performance.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to enhance skills and productivity.
    • Conduct performance reviews and implement improvement plans as necessary.
    • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to optimize recovery rates.
    • Analyze collection trends and data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Handle escalated customer inquiries and disputes related to collections.
    • Foster positive relationships with customers to encourage timely payments.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and present regular reports on collection performance to management.
    • Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments, such as finance, customer service, sales, to resolve issues and improve processes.
    • Liaise with external collection agencies when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in collections or a related field, with at least 1year in a leadership role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics.
    • Knowledge of collection laws and regulations.
    • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
