About the Role

As a Cloud FinOps Analyst will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering FinOps services to our partners and customers. This position involves engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering collaboration, and driving impactful outcomes. Your responsibilities will include creating models for FinOps analysis and reporting, engaging in complex presales activities, providing advanced data analysis and recommendations, and mentoring fellow FinOps team members. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a deep understanding of public cloud and hybrid resources, is proficient in the FinOps Framework, and excels in critical thinking, mentoring, training, and data analysis.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a senior technical resource and subject matter expert on FinOps projects, both internally and externally.

  • Collaborate with partners, customers, sales, and finance teams to facilitate meetings and ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Establish governance and operational processes for cloud FinOps, implementing best practices for resource deployment.

  • Work alongside engineering teams to develop cost allocation methodologies, tagging strategies, and promote cloud financial management best practices.

  • Design and execute initiatives for cloud cost optimization, including reserved instance strategies and resource right-sizing.

  • Support sales teams in identifying, scoping, and closing opportunities by leveraging research, customer interactions, reporting, and presentations.

  • Develop and maintain automated solutions, including ETL pipelines, APIs, and machine learning models for spend prediction.

  • Architect and implement multi-cloud cost allocation systems and monitoring solutions, delivering FinOps services and education across AWS, Azure, GCP, and other public cloud environments.

  • Create executive-level dashboards and lead business reviews with senior leadership on cloud spending and optimization initiatives.

  • Additional duties as needed

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on FinOps or cloud cost optimization.

  • College degree preferred, or equivalent work or military experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills are obtained.

  • FinOps Foundation Certification and AWS, GCP, or Azure certifications are preferred.

  • Proven success in leading FinOps initiatives within large enterprise environments.

  • Cloud Expertise: Expert-level experience with at least two major public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • FinOps Practices: Demonstrated ability to build and scale FinOps practices in complex, multi-cloud environments.

  • Proficiency in automation and scripting languages, with a strong understanding of modern cloud architecture patterns and their cost implications.

  • Deep understanding of cloud pricing models, discount options, and optimization strategies across various cloud providers.

  • Advanced experience with enterprise cloud cost management and optimization tools.

  • Experience mentoring teams in cloud cost optimization practices.

  • Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to create and deliver formal presentations.

  • Strong leadership qualities, with a willingness to innovate and assertively lead initiatives.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to drive tasks to completion.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while effectively multitasking.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships across diverse teams and backgrounds.

  • Quick to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies, with advanced proficiency in relevant computer applications.

  • Occasional non-standard work hours, travel (minimal), or overtime may be required based on business needs. Hybrid work environment; Open to remote for the right candidate and qualifications.
