Description and Requirements

Job Responsibilities (Essential functions and duties):

  • Overseeing legal support and assisting in sales and procurement contracts (including Public Sector)
  • Assisting in the management and coaching of the NA Contracts Team
  • Develop understanding of existing contractual commitments for existing Lenovo Customers and Suppliers
  • Advising the NA Lenovo Team on a wide range of contractual legal issues
  • collaborate with internal and outside counsel, specific subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure the efficient closure of contract
  • work closely with the rest of Lenovo's lawyers, in the U.S., Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific and Business Groups to provide support on all contractual matters
  • Work closely with other Contract Management Teams to negotiate and close NA contracts
  • Establish contract templates, training, playbooks and guidance
  • Advise on a wide range of regulatory and commercial legal issues
  • Effectively engage in issue-spotting and involving legal subject matter experts within the broader corporate-level Lenovo Legal Department
  • Work efficiently to supplement internal resources across Lenovo's geographies with advice from outside as needed
  • draft standard templates and establish a template library for all Services so they can be easily found and maintained

Job requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and license to practice in at least 1 EMEA jurisdiction
  • 12+ years of legal experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements, particularly within the technology industry, including some familiarity with Governmental procurement

Preferred experience:

  • Client Relationship Development/Management
    • Proven track record in building strong, trust-based relationships with diverse client groups
    • Ability to interface with customers and members of large organizations
    • Comfort around running Steering Groups and reporting on performance to clients
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation
    • Experience reviewing and analyzing businesses while developing and communicating creative solutions and mitigation strategies for key negotiation points
  • Drive for Continuous Improvement
    • Quick to identify and resolve issues in collaboration with client and team members
    • Proficiency in utilizing contract management technology for client/company reporting, workflow management, and team performance metrics
    • Possesses an appetite for innovation, driving efficiencies by developing playbooks, templates, etc.
    • Experience in change management as a result of implementation of company-wide policies and procedures
  • Collaborative Spirit
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively with different internal groups/functions
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of an organization to provide excellent
    • client service

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $160-175K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
