The HR Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team responsible for providing comprehensive support in employee relations, HR compliance, and HR systems administration. This role involves supporting internal teams with day-to-day HR functions, resolving employee issues, managing offboarding processes, and ensuring accuracy in payroll-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Respond to and manage employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
- Handle ADA/FMLA requests and ensure proper documentation and compliance
- Prepare and respond to unemployment claims, employment verification letters, and wage garnishment documentation
- Manage COBRA reporting and communicate changes to margins and stakeholders
- Address margin discrepancies and report issues to payroll and finance teams
HR Systems & Reporting
- Maintain and update employee information across ADP, UKG, Salesforce, and Selerix platforms
- Set up and manage user access and permissions in ADP for new users
- Prepare headcount and turnover reports as needed
- Add and track HSA accounts and other benefit-related information in ADP
- Generate insurance claims and 401K reports for internal and external stakeholders
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate insurance deductions and wage garnishments
- Track and communicate performance reviews and salary changes with payroll
- Work with insurance carriers to resolve claims and coverage discrepancies
- Assist with Workers' Compensation claims and coordination with carriers and internal teams
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Manage and document offboarding processes including exit interviews, final pay, and benefit terminations
- Support onboarding processes in coordination with HR and IT for new hire setup
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in employee relations, benefits administration, or HRIS management
- Strong working knowledge of ADP, UKG, Salesforce, and Selerix systems
- Familiarity with federal and state labor laws, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, and Workers' Compensation
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required
