Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training programs, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students. Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee the writing of manuscripts and facilitate collaboration with potential partners, and to assist as needed with programmatic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent communication skills, and experience in academic or scientific writing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage Manuscript Writing: Coordinate the writing, editing, and submission of manuscripts, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
* Facilitate Collaboration: Organize and schedule meetings with potential collaborators, including researchers, industry experts, and academic institutions.
* Project Planning: Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for manuscript writing and collaboration activities.
* Coordination: Assist with planning and implementation of programmatic initiatives.
* Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any issues that arise.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all project activities, including meeting notes, correspondence, data, and manuscript drafts.
* Quality Assurance: Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of all written materials before submission.
* Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with Project Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
Experience in project management of academic or scientific writing.
