A Brief Overview The Research Technician will play a key role in supporting and advancing the lab's scientific mission by performing laboratory experiments and contributing to data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Working under the supervision of the principal investigator or senior lab members, the technician will assist with ongoing research projects and help maintain smooth daily operations of the lab. Depending on experience and initiative, there may be opportunities to take ownership of specific research projects and drive them forward independently or semi-independently. The Qian Lab, located in the BRIDGE Center at CHOP and affiliated with the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania, investigates the development and diseases of the human cerebral cortex. Led by Dr. Xuyu Qian, a tenure-track Assistant Professor, the lab leverages human-based approaches, such as spatial omics, brain organoids, and human genetics, to study disease-relevant features of the human brain. The research aims to uncover the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders, with the ultimate goal of informing novel therapeutic strategies.
