Overview
The Water Resources Professional Engineer is responsible for planning, modeling, permitting, and designing water resource projects. This role manages projects from initiation through completion, ensures compliance with applicable regulations, and coordinates with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver effective solutions. Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and execution of water resource projects including stormwater systems, drainage, and flood control
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and prepare technical reports, design documents, and permit applications
- Manage regulatory compliance and permitting processes at federal, state, and local levels
- Review project details to identify and proactively manage risks
- Evaluate site conditions and design systems to perform under environmental and operational demands
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, municipal authorities, contractors, and vendors
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to meet established goals
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals, scopes, and fees in collaboration with team members
- Review work prepared by engineering staff and provide direction as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Texas
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in water resources engineering
- Knowledge of civil engineering practices and principles with awareness of current industry trends
- Strong understanding of engineering project management methods including time, cost, and resource planning
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and workplace safety standard
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact across all organizational levels
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS preferred
