Job Description

Elwyn is seeking a Senior Director of Clinical Excellence, who will be responsible for driving clinical quality and best practices across the assigned behavioral health programs. This role ensures that care delivery aligns with evidence-based standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals for clinical excellence. The Senior Director will lead cross-departmental collaboration to embed a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and innovation in clinical services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) to develop user-friendly systems for tracking clinical quality metrics over time, supporting data-driven decision-making and service improvement.
  • Partners with Quality Improvement (QI) teams to align clinical goals with key performance indicators, ensuring initiatives are meaningful, achievable, and reflective of best practices.
  • Works jointly with QI to develop, review, and revise clinical policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements and promote clinical excellence.
  • Engages program leaders and frontline staff in identifying and removing barriers to delivering high-quality care; co-develops solutions that promote accountability, equity, and a shared commitment to quality.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources and Center of Excellence Leadership to expand and enhance internship programs, identifying clinical areas where interns can contribute meaningfully while developing professionally in a supportive environment.
  • Develop linkages between programs to increase internal access to services (e.g. psychological testing, licensure supervision)
  • Leads the creation of role- and program-specific training curricula in partnership with Professional Development, ensuring alignment with licensure standards, best practices, and level of care needs.
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communications to elevate clinical quality messaging in internal staff communications and highlight outcomes that demonstrate excellence.
  • Establishes, implements, and regularly reviews clinical quality guidelines for each level of care, balancing regulatory compliance, evidence-based standards, and operational feasibility.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and advisor to the executive team on current trends, innovations, and challenges in behavioral healthcare quality.
  • Provide clinical supervision and behavioral health services, including psychological assessments, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters' or Doctoral degree in clinical psychology or applied behavioral analysis (ABA)
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Clinical Psychology license
  • Five (5) years supervisory experience
  • Five (5) years' experience in the field supporting individuals with behavioral and intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or medically complex diagnosis (e.g. evaluating new admissions, overseeing and developing treatment plans and coordinating clinical care between providers)
  • Non-profit human service experience highly preferred
  • Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
  • Demonstrated (basic, intermediate, advanced) experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint; Access, Publisher and report-writer experience preferred
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) software
  • Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record
  • Proven ability to integrate diverse perspectives, foster innovation and accomplish objectives through managing, coaching, and developing a team
  • Ability to manage processes, develop and initiate actionable strategies that support the company's growth mission
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally with all levels within an organization
  • Team player with exceptional organizational skills that can work independently and be adaptable to changing schedules and demands
  • High level of both written and verbal communication skills, capable of adapting style and tone according to the situation and audience
