What this job involves:

The Data Center Technician supports JLL's Proximity Services by delivering the highest possible standard of service for all infrastructure and processes managed within our data center facilities. You will provide essential technical assistance and comprehensive support to our customers while maintaining 24/7 operational coverage. This position directly contributes to JLL's business objectives by ensuring optimal data center performance, maintaining strict standards for security and cleanliness, and supporting seamless technology operations that enable our clients' business continuity.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Install and manage racks, housing, network and computer equipment including HP, DELL, and CISCO rack mount kits

  • Perform hardware maintenance including swapping failed customer replaceable parts such as cache batteries, HDDs, and power supplies

  • Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and maintain detailed maintenance logs

  • Install customer IT equipment including shelves, power strips, rails, and cable management systems

  • Identify hardware and cabling issues, perform component replacement, testing, tracing and labeling of cabling

  • Liaise with global teams and 3rd party engineers on hardware-related issues and processes

  • Uphold data center standards for tidiness, cleanliness, security, and asset information management within computer suites

Required Qualifications:

  • Computer engineering experience and knowledge to achieve optimum methods of working

  • Cabling experience and knowledge with ability to test, trace, and label cables effectively

  • Experience with installation of rack mount equipment including HP, DELL, and CISCO systems

  • Hardware maintenance experience with customer replaceable parts (cache batteries, HDDs, power supplies)

  • Ability to lift minimum 50lbs safely and work at heights up to 30 feet using ladders

  • Availability for 24/7 coverage including overtime, on-call, diverse shifts, and weekend work

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in critical facility environments or data centers

  • Highly motivated individual with positive and pro-active attitude toward work

  • Ability to act rapidly and logically under pressure while making effective use of others in problem resolution

  • Capability to work with minimum supervision in both independent and team environments

  • Excellent team skills with ability to listen and contribute to discussions and meetings

  • Customer and service-focused mindset with determination to meet client needs

  • Willingness to innovate and improve operational efficiency through process improvements and best practices adoption

Work Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11pm

On-site -Hartland, WI
