Job Description

Manages, plans, and organizes the staff and activities of Rehabilitation service's to achieve approved clinical goals, and strategic operating plans and objectives.

Job Responsibility




  • Provides leadership to Rehabilitation Services team members, supervisors, and managers by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
  • Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
  • Develops and monitors strategic operating goals, objectives and budget; reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.
  • Monitors the quality of services provided and administers direct patient care in accordance with the referral of a licensed physician or other state authorized practitioner.
  • Develops and oversees implementation/reinforcement of Departmental programs, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures departmental records and statistics are maintained and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees the inspection and maintenance of equipment; evaluates and recommends new equipment and supplies.
  • Develops and manages direct reports, and oversees the development and management of their staff.
  • Oversees compliance with government and agency regulations.
  • Oversees the development, integration, communication, implementation, and performance evaluation of operating policies and procedures.
  • Builds and maintains productive inter/intra departmental and vendor work relationships to optimize operations.

Job Qualification




  • Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Current License to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Registered Occupational Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Speech Pathologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience and 5-7 years of leadership / management experience, required.
