Job Description Summary |
The
ITS Data Integration Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between enterprise applications to ensure the smooth flow of data across university systems. This position plays a crucial role in optimizing the university's data infrastructure by automating data processes, troubleshooting data inconsistencies, and ensuring data integrity across systems such as Slate, Colleague, PowerFAIDS, ActiveDirectory, Google and other platforms. The Data Integration Specialist will also provide backup support for the Reporting and Analytics Analyst as needed. |
Essential Functions |
- Develop and manage integrations between core systems (e.g., Slate, Colleague, PowerFAIDS), ensuring data flows seamlessly between them using iPaaS, SQL, SFTP etc.
- In collaboration with IT and community stakeholders, design and implement automated data workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve data processing efficiency.
- Monitor data flows to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data integrity issues including duplicate records in the student information system.
- Monitor the performance of integrations and continuously seek to optimize data transfer speed and reliability.
- Work closely with IT Business Analysts, the Data Governance Group, and other stakeholders to understand integration requirements and implement solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data integration processes and data flow diagrams.
- Participate in the University data governance group and ensure that all data integration practices follow relevant compliance regulations (e.g., FERPA, GDPR).
- In collaboration with the Financial Aid staff and the IT Business Analyst supporting Financial Aid, perform PowerFAIDS upgrades (5 times annually).

Required Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills |
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data integration or related roles.
- Experience with integration platforms (e.g., iPaaS)
- Strong SQL and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Javascript, PowerShell, etc.).
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality best practices, and security standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and work independently is required; ability to research, analyze and promote new technical solutions is desired.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are a must

Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills |
- Experience with databases, Git, Ellucian's product line including Colleague, and with MS Windows operating system is preferred.
- Experience in supporting a diverse group of users, preferably in a higher education environment, is desired.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
