Staff Occupational Therapist Job Description:

The occupational therapist is part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing evidence-based interventions to acute rehabilitation patients. The occupational therapist collaborates with the rehabilitation team to develop a comprehensive plan of care to prepare the patients for a successful discharge. They work with a variety of patient neurological diagnoses as well as patients post multi-trauma and amputation.

Occupational therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory, and other aspects of performance in a variety of contexts to support engagement in everyday life activities that affect health, well-being, and quality of life. Educates and prepares patients/families and caregivers for continued care after discharge. The occupational therapist may be involved in consultative services within the organization and in the community. The occupational therapist demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care.

Occupational Therapist-Clin Lead Job Description:

The Occupational Clinical Lead is directly responsible for management of both clinicians within their discipline and support staff, in collaboration with the therapy site leader. The clinical lead may serve as a clinical resource for all staff in the areas of his or her clinical expertise. The clinical lead provides leadership, support, and assistance in daily site management and operational tasks, quality improvement, program development, professional development, and research, as determined by the needs of the site, discipline, and department. Provides occupational therapy to patients in the acute rehab setting with a focus on interventions for neurologically impaired individuals.

Occupational Therapists function as an essential member of therapy and multidisciplinary teams providing direct care to patients and collaborating with other team members on discharge planning and teach and prepare patients/families and caregivers for continued care after discharge. The Occupational Therapist may be involved in consultative services within Fletcher Allen Health Care and in the community. They demonstrate dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care.

Education:

  • Bachelor's of Science or higher degree from an Accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice occupational therapy in the State of Vermont.

Experience:

  • Three years of experience as a staff therapist, required for the Clin Lead position.
