Overview Nakupuna Solutions is seeking a Budget/Financial Analyst III. The Budget Analyst III provides advanced support for financial tracking, reconciliation, and reporting functions within the Bureau's foreign assistance portfolio. This role ensures accuracy in obligation data, leads coordination efforts to address outstanding financial actions, and serves as a key resource for historical financial information. The analyst also provides support to other team members during high-volume periods, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the budget team's operations. The Department of State's Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) leads the U.S. government's efforts to counter terrorism abroad and to build the capacity of international partners to prevent and respond to terrorist threats. Administrative and Professional Support Services play a critical role in advancing CT's mission by providing operational, logistical, and programmatic support across a range of initiatives. These services ensure the efficient functioning of the Bureau by supporting policy coordination, budget and financial management, human resources, travel, procurement, and other essential administrative functions that enable CT to deliver timely, effective counterterrorism programming worldwide. The place of performance for this work is Washington, DC, and some travel may be required. Manages quarterly budget execution reporting for all foreign assistance obligations.
Qualifications Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate is a highly experienced budget professional with deep expertise in federal financial management, budget formulation, and execution. They possess strong knowledge of industry-standard budgeting principles and tools, including federal regulations, appropriation law, and OMB guidance. Skilled in using Microsoft Excel and financial systems, they are adept at reconciling complex data, evaluating programmatic changes, and preparing high-quality budget justifications. The candidate excels in applying analytical techniques to support decision-making and demonstrates exceptional communication skills for conveying budget information to stakeholders across all levels.
