We're looking for a Software Development Manager- Merchant Onboarding (API & UI) to join our software engineering team and help us unleash the potential of every business. What you'll own as the Software Development Manager- Merchant Onboarding (API & UI) We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of our Merchant Onboarding platform. This role will oversee both backend API services and frontend UI components, ensuring a seamless and secure onboarding experience for merchants. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven technical leadership experience, and a passion for building scalable, user-centric applications in the FinTech space with deep cloud-native development expertise. Technical Leadership & Architecture * Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of Merchant Onboarding APIs and user interfaces. * Design and develop scalable software applications for both internal use and external market deployment. * Oversee the creation of secure, RESTful APIs for merchant data intake, validation, and onboarding status tracking. * Direct the development of responsive, user-friendly UI components for merchant registration, document upload, and onboarding dashboards. * Promote the use of modern development practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and API versioning. * Ensure applications meet high standards of quality, performance, and security. Team Management & Resource Planning * Manage and mentor a team of API developers, UI/UX designers, and analysts, including hiring, performance reviews, and career development. * Allocate technical resources effectively across projects and forecast future resource needs. * Maximize team utilization and ensure profitability of billable development efforts. Product & Business Collaboration * Collaborate with product managers to shape the product roadmap and enhance the merchant onboarding experience. * Resolve critical technical issues and contribute to the strategic development of the business unit. * Adhere to and enforce departmental development and delivery process standards. Compliance & Quality Assurance * Ensure compliance with industry regulations by coordinating with compliance consultants and internal stakeholders. * Manage the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and auditing. What you'll bring * Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field. * 12+ years of software development experience, with at least 5+ years in technical leadership or managerial role. * Proven experience designing and managing RESTful APIs and modern web-based UIs. * Strong proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., Java, Springboot) and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js). * Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineering teams, foster innovation, and drive technical excellence. * Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services like API Gateway, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker). * Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), data modeling, and performance optimization. * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and DevOps practices. * Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, serverless computing, and infrastructure automation. * Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). * Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, SAML). * Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience using tools like Rally or Jira. * Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams. * Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) is a plus. It's a bonus if you have * Experience leading the development of onboarding platforms or customer intake systems in a regulated industry. * Experience working in FinTech, payments, or merchant services, with a strong understanding of industry-specific challenges and compliance requirements. * Background in UX/UI design principles or collaboration with design teams. * Experience with A/B testing, analytics integration, and performance tuning for web applications. * Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster).
