Inova Physician Services- Orthopedics in our Sterling location is looking to add an Orthopedic Technician to our growing team. The primary duty will be casting, supporting several doctors in the practice. This is a full time opportunity, M- F, 40 hours a week. Orthopedic Technician Job Responsibilities: Maintains an Orthopedic Technician log of equipment dispersed and charges entered. Responds to requests promptly and gives an estimated time regarding when the intervention will occur. Showcases the ability to apply sequential compression devices, arterial-venous impulses, continuous passive motion machines, overbed frames, and other orthopedic patient equipment as directed by physicians. Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians in Orthopedic procedures according to facility needs (e.g. halo application and/or adjustment, casting, external fixators, inserting skeletal pins). Demonstrates the ability to fit and adjust braces and other orthopedic supplies (e.g. knee range of motion brace, cervical collar, Lenard boot, etc.) as directed by the needs of the facility. Develops/maintains a listing of all orthopedic equipment, supplies, appliances, and devices used within the area of responsibility. Primary qualifications: Licensure - None required Experience - 1 year of experience in Patient Care Education - High School or GED Certification - Basic Life Support upon start- MUST BE THRU THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION Preferred qualifications: a year of experience casting patients
