Role Details

As a/an Asset Manager, you will (be):

  • Primary point of contact for borrowers overseeing the management and performance of Real Estate debt investments, ensuring alignment with loan documents and risk limits for various debt strategies.

  • Executing on post-closing loan surveillance processes including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and analysis. Participate in periodic meetings with senior management providing material updates on performance.

  • Identifying and reporting on investment level risks in portfolios. Populating a Watch List and recommending changes to internal risk ratings.

  • Working with the Head of Asset Management and Portfolio Manager(s) to assist in the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies for challenged debt investments.

  • Assist with all loan modifications and/or workouts as applicable, performing analysis and preparing the Investment Committee approval memos, as applicable

  • Performing (or managing completion) of all routine asset management tasks such as covenant monitoring, approvals, contractual extensions, fundings, releases and/or substitutions of collateral.

  • Managing the closing transition process including confirmation of the investment set-up on internal systems as well as with third party service providers.

  • Assist with quarterly loan pricing process, ensuring vendors have the most up to date terms and performance information on each investment.

  • Support client reporting activities by providing updates and reports on loan and collateral performance, as needed.

We are looking for:

  • Extensive experience of asset management across commercial Real Estate Debt covering a variety of debt instruments and complex holding structures.

  • Proven track record of effectively managing real estate debt investments, identifying risk, and supporting mitigation strategies to achieve investment objectives.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key drivers of investment performance.

  • Strong management and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive results in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.

  • Experience working with multiple parties, debt instruments and confident in addressing legal, tax, accounting, and financial issues within the commercial Real Estate sector

  • Educated to degree level in a Finance related discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) or an acceptable level of industry experience

The salary range for this position in New York is $157,000 to $260,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
