Job Description: WHY CHOOSE US? Where Your Career is a Force for Good! *This is a remote position where you will meet with North Texas/Oklahoma donors in person, by phone and video. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The Gift Planning Unit at the American Red Cross seeks to secure planned gifts supporting any component of the organization's mission and to establish the Red Cross as the charity of choice for such gifts. Reporting to the Director of Gift Planning, the Gift Planning Officer (based in Dallas or Fort Worth preferred) develops, designs, and implements the planned giving program for the North Texas/Oklahoma Regions of the American Red Cross (with Community Chapters currently located in Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock, Tyler, Wichita Falls, Abilene, Amarillo, Oklahoma City, Stillwater, Shawnee and Tulsa), focusing on new gift commitments for the organization. This role includes identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gift planning prospects and donors in the Regions. The Gift Planning Officer will be responsible for developing strategies to increase funding capacity and maximize donor relationships. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:
Scope: Individual contributor that is fully proficient in applying subject matter knowledge. Knowledge based acquired from several years of experience in particular area. Work independently and may instruct or coach other professionals. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: A Bachelor's degree in philanthropy studies, nonprofit management, law, finance, insurance, trust services, real estate, or other related field required. Certification in one or more of the following areas is preferred: CFRE, CFP, CAP, J.D., LLM

Physical Requirements: Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time.
