A Day In The Life
The Lead, Accounts Payable (AP) under the leadership of the Manager, AP and AR will assist with managing day-to-day activities in the accounts payable department including directing the processing of payments for goods and services and working with the AP Specialists to research and resolve complex payment and supplier issues. The AP Lead will also assist the Manager, AP and AR with auditing, reporting and reconciliation processes.

As a Lead, Accounts Payable you will:

  • Utilize in-depth understanding of accounts payable to assist with day-to-day activities of the Friedkin Group AP Group including invoice processing, payment processing, month-end close, processing 1099s and Supplier Master Data Maintenance.
  • Support projects and implementation of key initiatives including software implementation/updates and process improvements as directed by the Manager, AP and AR.
  • Assist with the establishment and/or maintenance of internal policies and procedures to ensure quality, timeliness, and accuracy of the department to meet Service Level Agreements.
  • Support enterprise-wide AP related activities as it relates to Disaster Recovery
  • Support external audit requests related to AP
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the suppliers and internal customers.
  • May manage a team of 2-4 associates
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these associates
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, coordinating, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, coaching and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Responsibilities also include sponsoring, directing, coordinating, and supporting project and process improvement teams, and participating in and/or supporting project teams sponsored by other management team members

What We Need From You

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Strongly Preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in Accounts Payable with 1-3 years of experience leading a team Required

Physical Requirements
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
