Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities for production equipment. The Maintenance Manager will lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians, implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Essential Job Duties:



  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all equipment, machinery, and systems.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance effectiveness, such as uptime, downtime, mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failures (MTBF), and maintenance costs.
  • Strategize and execute initiatives to improve equipment reliability, reduce breakdowns, and extend asset lifespan.
  • Prioritize and manage maintenance work orders, ensuring timely completion and quality of work.
  • Oversee emergency repairs and ensure rapid response to critical equipment failures.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork within the maintenance department.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the maintenance team.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with internal safety policies, OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and relevant industry codes.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and compliance documentation.


Other Duties



  • Identify and evaluate external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services, equipment repairs, or installations.
  • Monitor service level agreements, and ensure quality and cost-effectiveness of external services.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve any service-related issues.
  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and other problem-solving methodologies to identify the root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance performance, budget status, and project progress to senior management.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments (production, operations, engineering, facilities) to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system for managing work orders, assets, and preventive maintenance schedules.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of related experience with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience with preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies
  • Experience with PLCs, control systems, and automation is often required in manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
