Your Job Koch Investment Management is seeking a Summer 2026 Investment Analyst Intern who is excited to explore their passions and potential while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, research-driven trading environment. Watch What's It Like to Intern at Koch Our Team Koch Investment Management (KIM) manages Koch Inc.'s excess capital in both liquid and private markets. KIM seeks to optimize the risk-adjusted return of the whole portfolio, and we take a portfolio approach to managing risk. We invest in various asset classes via futures, swaps, options, other derivatives, cash instruments, hedge funds, and the full spectrum of private markets. This internship and potential full-time employment position location is Wichita, Kansas. What You Will Do Our interns work alongside experienced analysts to solve real problems and offer insights. In addition to being a contributor on their team, interns at Koch Companies explore our unique Principle-Based Management culture, partner with interns from other disciplines on case studies, learn key business concepts and Koch mental models, and engage with leaders to learn more about business transformation, our work in society, and more. Investment Analyst Internship * Drive automation efforts including data cleansing and analytics across the portfolio using valuation, pricing, and performance records within Excel, Python, and Bloomberg * Contribute to project-based work such as model updates, screening tool development, thematic research, and technology initiatives * Track market trends in the convertible bond space, including issuance levels, pricing dynamics, and valuation dislocations * Evaluate the impact of macroeconomic factors-such as interest rates, volatility, and credit spreads-on the relative value of convertible securities across sectors and capital structures * Perform credit and fundamental research, analyzing capital structures, liquidity profiles, leverage ratios, covenant risks, and debt maturity schedules * Monitor earnings calls and financial reports for current and target holdings; identify key metrics, assess valuation implications, and develop internal summaries * Monitor hedge positions and portfolio exposures * Support new issuance processes, including term sheet review and initial analysis Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Eligible for full-time employment no later than Summer 2027 * Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program related to Finance, Economics, Computer Science or Accounting * Proven ability to summarize ideas, risks, and research concisely * Familiarity with Excel and Microsoft 365 Suite What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications) * A demonstrated curiosity for financial markets and portfolio management * Familiarity with Bloomberg for data retrieval, financial analysis, or market monitoring * Strong analytical and quantitative skills, critical thinking capacity, academic or external research synthesis, and ability to translate a point of view into actionable insights * Proficiency in programming R, Python, C/C++, or Java to build systems * Proficiency in SQL and database design (i.e., ability to write database queries and knowledge of database design principles.)
