Job Description General Description: Under limited direction, supervises and participates in professional clinical pastoral work for the OU Health and performs some functions of the Director, as needed. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. General Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a degree or equivalent number of twenty-four (24) semester hours in religion OR graduated from an accredited theological seminary AND completion of a specialized clinical pastoral training in an accredited training program. Experience:At least one (1) year of experience as a Chaplain, minister, priest or rabbi preferably in a healthcare setting. 3 to 5 years progressive leadership experience required. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of religious theories, principles and practices of different faith groups. Knowledge of counseling methods and techniques. Ability to supervise chaplains of all faiths. Ability to develop and conduct religious services, rites, Sunday school and Bible classes. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public. Must have good conversation skills, which foster empathy for a patient's condition and consideration for the feelings and concerns of family and staff. Work will often be under stressful and/or emotional conditions. |
