You'll execute research that informs the way we surface and represent content to Pinners, how we enable them to control what they see, how we help introduce them to their next use case, and how we help them take action on their inspiration.

What you'll do:

  • Prioritize and conduct research that varies in approach, scale, scope, timeframe and methodologies across multiple work streams, making sure to work on the right project at the right time
  • Conduct qualitative research that varies in approach, scale, scope, timeframe and methodologies (this could look like in-depth interviews, diary studies, focus groups, concept testing, or usability testing)
  • Collaborate closely with other researchers to partner on projects and synthesize findings across studies
  • Lead research projects from beginning to end (define study goals, align on research questions, construct a research plan, recruit, gather data, synthesize learnings, and socialize insights)
  • Proactively communicate and share your research findings with product teams and other audiences in compelling, actionable, and engaging ways
  • Inform product team strategy and roadmap; provide perspective on the problems the team can focus on solving for users

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelors degree in psychology, a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience designing and conducting end-to-end product research as part of cross-functional product teams, ideally at a consumer-facing tech company
  • Broad toolbox of qualitative methods and the ability to select appropriate methods to answer different types of questions
  • Experience conducting foundational and generative research, as well as evaluative and tactical research
  • Strong ability to tie research insights to actionable and specific product recommendations
  • Excellent communication, storytelling / narrative building, and presentation skills
  • Collaborative approach to research and ability to bring stakeholders along for the process
  • Curiosity, self-awareness, humility, and a drive for growth, learning, and sharing knowledge
  • Ability to operate and support teams autonomously in a fast-moving environment

Relocation Statement:

  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Visit our PinFlex page to learn more about our working model.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
