Title:Assistant Professor of Social Work Division: Provost's Office Department: College of Liberal Arts FLSA Status:Exempt Salary Range:Annual Salary EEO Job Group:2 C5 Position Summary. The Department of Social Work at the University of Southern Indiana, a public university in Evansville, Indiana, seeks applications for a 9-month tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in Social Work. The appointment will begin in Fall 2026. Duties/Responsibilities The Assistant Professor will be expected to teach 12 credit hours per semester, which includes undergraduate and/or graduate departmental course offerings in Social Work, in addition to advising students, engaging in scholarly activity, and providing professional, university and community service. The Social Work program is Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited. The teaching load for this position will be 4/4. Required Knowledge and Skills Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Social Work or a closely related field. Doctoral candidates will be considered if the terminal degree will be completed by the end of their first year of employment. If employment starts in August 2026, terminal degree must be completed by the end of July 2027. Applicants must hold a master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program and a minimum of two years post masters experience.
