SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director, Revenue Cycle Management, the Revenue Cycle Manager, Cash Management is responsible for managing, directing and monitoring all operational aspects associated with daily operations within Revenue Cycle Cash Management. This position manages operations for a centralized billing support staff with the full scope of processing payments, including posting, research, analysis and reconciliation. The incumbentis responsible for direct supervision of Supervisor(s) and/or Coordinators asassigned. This includes hiring, training, and monitoring compliance with personnel policies and procedures. This individual will work with the Director to develop policies and procedures that govern the cash controls and how the work is completed; and will also serve as a lead for troubleshooting, problem solving and will be expected to exercise independent judgment. The incumbent will also be required to work on project teams for upgrades or installations of systems and for monitoring interfaces with SAP and Finance. This position is responsible for establishing relationships at all facilities and will work directly with revenue cycle leadership to resolve payment workflow and payer issues. The Cash Manager also serves as a liaison with the Finance Division to assist in the analysis and resolution of general ledger issues. In addition, this person will also be involved in the annual external audit and must pull records and answer questions for the auditors.
The position requires a thorough understanding of medical billing and experience using the appropriate billing system. Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work well under pressure. Maintain strict confidentiality of staff and patient information. Promotes team work and identifies areas of improvement, with recommended coordinated actions to bring about changes. The preferred candidate will possess proven analytical skills and specific technical knowledge in an Epic billing environment.

NOTE: There are two open positions, with this one being expressly for physiciain billing.

Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Health Administration, Finance or related field - OR - 5 years of direct management expeirence in healthcare receivables.
  • Master's Degre in Business Administration, Health Administration, or Information Management is preferred.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • In-depth knowledge of billing issues and management experience in an academic professional and/or health system billing office required.
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of banking and cash control procedures and systems.
  • Understanding of the current electronic remittance advice (ERA) and electronic fund transfer (EFT) format and segment functions is required.
  • Requires knowledge of claim adjustment reason codes (CARCs) and remark codes (RARCs) used in the ANSI X12 835/ERA files.
  • Requires proven analytical ability and organizational skills necessary to organize/assess information and provide recommendations based upon data analysis.
  • Requires leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support to the assigned work group and to promote employee development.



Work Experience:

5 years progressive management responsibilities related to medical billing with 3 years supervisory experience




Salary Range: Minimum 31.96/hour - Maximum 55.95/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
