Department Information

The Center for Sustainable Communities Research and Education (SCoRE) engages faculty, students, and staff in long-term, strategic research and education collaborations with community partners, focusing primarily on sustainability in the Atlanta region, the state of Georgia, and the Southeast. We have four primary areas of work: Community-engaged Sustainability Research, Community-engaged Sustainability Education, Strategic Community Partnerships, and Thought Leadership.

We are a deeply collaborative, small but mighty center and are passionate about centering community engagement in the Institutes sustainability and climate research and education initiatives. We know that local knowledge and expertise are crucial to building the sustainability and climate innovations of the future. We are committed to jumpstarting and stewarding authentic relationships and collaborations between Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students and community partners working across the Southeast to create thriving communities that benefit people and planet. We have spent valuable time working to establish a broad, community-centered approach to sustainability as well as principles for collaboration and we are intentional about putting the principles into practice. We believe in process and know that the journey determines the outcomes.

SCoRE is housed in the Brook Byers Institute for Sustainable Systems (BBISS) under the Vice President of Interdisciplinary Research (VPIR). SCoRE works closely with the growing community-engaged ecosystem at Georgia Tech, which includes, but is not limited to, Office of Community-based Learning; Community Relations; Strategic Energy Institute; Institute for People and Technology; Renewable Bioproducts Institute; Office of Sustainability; Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing; Partnership for Inclusive Innovation; and Enterprise Innovation Institute. Job Summary

Manage enterprise level programs and portfolios through administrative support, data analysis, tracking and reporting. Oversee and support project execution through continual coordination of program/portfolio plans, data analysis, reporting and education. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty, staff, and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty, staff and vendors. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Manage all aspects of assigned programs throughout project life-cycle to ensure completion within the defined scope, quality, and time and cost constraints

Job Duty 2 -
Compile and respond to data requests to facilitate the development of recommendations to address/resolve potential and existing Institute and unit-level challenges

Job Duty 3 -
Develop data analysis, financial modeling, and bench-marking for project requests and initiatives

Job Duty 4 -
Design, develop and maintain tools and processes for portfolio management and enterprise-level tracking

Job Duty 5 -
Assist in creation and delivery of materials for project/program management education and mentoring

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Data Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or Portfolio Management Profession (PfMP) Certification; Sustainability related experience; experience with academic program management.

Experience in coordinating collaborative projects and initiatives, preferably with community partners
