People * Customers * Trust We are seeking resumes for an Equipment Operator (1 - Opening) in our Wallula, WA facility. Description of role: This position supports mill operations by unloading/loading trucks and or barges containing wood chips intended to go to the Wallula paper mill. Pay and Benefits: The hourly rate for the Equipment Operator position starts at $33.32. Employees (and their dependents) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance coverage, subject to applicable waiting periods. Employees are automatically enrolled in PCA's 401k retirement plan at the time of hire. Employees are also eligible for up to 120 hours of vacation (prorated) and eleven (11) paid holidays per calendar year. Principle Accountabilities: Unloading sawdust and wood chip barges using a large excavator (Liebherr 974) with clamshell. Also Loading trucks with sawdust and woodchips using a wheel loader as needed. Manage all paperwork i.e. bill of lading, maintenance logs, machine inspections. Demonstrate proficiency while operating an excavator, including observing all safety best practices. Effectively inspect, clean, and maintain excavator and other heavy equipment before, during, and after use. Perform routine maintenance on excavator (fluids and filters) Must be flexible and have a willingness to perform any task as necessary This position will require a person to work long hours 4 to 6 day a week as needed, including night shifts. Must have the ability to work safely, learn new skills and work within a team environment. Basic Qualifications: Seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3 years experience operating a large excavator or material handler. Candidate must possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with co-workers. Candid must have demonstrated ability to work safely. The successful candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills & abilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required. Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment. Must be flexible with work hours. Excellent time management skills required to effectively use time to accomplish required responsibilities. Must have the ability to set high personal standards of performance and goals, while working under minimal supervision.
