DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
As an Adaptive Equipment Technician, you will perform work in the fabrication, assembly, repair, and maintenance of resident assistive devices. Your duties will include selecting proper materials and using appropriate hand and power tools to complete a variety of skilled tasks in the construction, modification, and repair of this equipment. In this position, you will fashion and assemble parts for special assistive and therapeutic devices adapted to meet individual resident needs. You can expect to repair adaptive equipment, as well as provide nursing and physical therapy staff with all applicable equipment. Additionally, you will work with other departments to complete work orders and notify the supervisor if any problems are encountered while completing work orders. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You may have to work weekends.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in the fabrication, assembly, or repair of adaptive equipment.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be willing and able to work in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience in the fabrication, assembly, repair of adaptive equipment
- Experience constructing, assembling, and repairing powered and manual wheelchairs, scooters, mechanical beds and lifts, carts, walkers, contour chairs, body and leg braces, and other assistive and therapeutic devices
- Experience adjusting and operating machines and hand and power tools
- Experience in the ordering of parts, equipment, or supplies
- Experience working with therapeutic devices or adaptive equipment
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
- This position comes under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
