Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a CNC Tech I for our Fullerton, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Summary

Operates a single or multiple spindle numerical controlled drilling machine to perform such operations as drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, grooving, slotting etc. Follows predetermined procedures. Checks own work for conformance to specifications. Reports machine malfunction to appropriate person.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Machines parts according to drawings and specifications provided
• Completes daily preventative maintenance on the machine
• Assures that parts being moved from the machine are labeled correctly
• Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.
• Read blueprints and has the knowledge to use micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers and dial indicators as needed.
• Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.
• Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine documentation. Ability to speak clearly and effectively with managers, supervisors and coworkers.
• Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Syteline Manufacturing software.

Physical Demands:

• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to stand and sit.
• Occasionally required to walk and talk or hear.
• Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 30 pounds.
