JOB TITLE: Finance Manager - Commercial POSITION TYPE: Full time CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
Monday - Friday
Hybrid Schedule: Onsite 3+ days a week in Middleton, WI with flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days a week.
Position Overview: The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will serve as a strategic advisor to the Commercial Sales team, providing financial insights and driving initiatives that support revenue growth, margin improvement, and customer profitability. This role leads forecasting and planning processes, supports pricing strategy and contract negotiations, and enhances financial visibility through analytics, KPIs, and cross-functional collaboration. Additionally, the role plays a key part in executive reporting, enterprise FP&A initiatives, managing and mentoring emerging finance talent.
Key Accountabilities: Commercial Finance Support
Serve as the primary finance partner to the Commercial Sales team, collaborating with Sales leadership on business reviews, volume and inventory planning, and strategic initiatives. Deliver financial insights and guidance to drive revenue growth and margin expansion across the portfolio, while helping the team understand key financial levers. Translate market trends and commercial performance into actionable strategies that support growth and long-range planning. Lead sales and margin planning across monthly forecasts and the annual operating plan. Analyze forecast variances and identify key risks and opportunities to support timely decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional partners (R&D, Quality, Operations) and lead initiatives by developing project charters, forming teams, and managing execution against deliverables.
Pricing & Customer Profitability
Conduct customer, product, and margin profitability analyses to identify opportunities for pricing improvements to support decisions on customer expansion, retention, and rationalization. Model and evaluate price/volume trade-offs to inform pricing strategies Partner with commercial leadership during contract negotiations and strategic pricing discussions. Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to improve visibility and accountability for account-level profitability.
FP&A Support
Own Commercial MBR (Monthly Business Review) deliverables and communicate key forecast and performance insights to Finance and Executive Leadership. Contribute to broader FP&A initiatives, including process improvements, system enhancements, and reporting standardization. Build dynamic financial models and provide ad hoc analysis to support strategic decisions, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis. Lead, coach, and support the development of finance team members and direct reports. Support the continuous improvement of BOARD (financial reporting tool) by recommending enhancements to functionality and usability. Serve as a proxy to the FP&A Director when needed, providing leadership and continuity across key initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related quantitative/technical discipline 3+ years of job-related experience Ability to present fact-based recommendations across various levels of management Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; proficiency working in Excel and PowerPoint Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree such as an MBA, CPA, or related quantitative or technical discipline Experience in the dairy industry or strong knowledge of relevant industry dynamics Prior experience with financial integration and consolidation systems Proficiency with BOARD, Oracle, and data visualization reporting tools 5+ years of relevant finance experience, with at least 3 years in a commercial-facing role Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring a team
