If so, we invite you to apply for a pivotal role as a Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator that empowers low-income families to reach self-sufficiency and achieve lasting change.

In this position, you'll be at the heart of our Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program, where you'll educate, counsel, and connect families with resources that help them build a better future. From developing individualized action plans to hosting community events and collaborating with local service providers, your work will directly support helping families thrive.

Pay Rate: $23 - $25/hr. (Depending on experience)

Schedule: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement services that promote education, employment, and job training for Section 8/HCVP participants to achieve self-sufficiency.
  • Recruit and enroll eligible families into the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program and guide them through assessments and action plans.
  • Coordinate with internal staff and community partners to secure support services, resources, and referrals tailored to participant needs.
  • Lead self-sufficiency meetings and outreach efforts, including events like job and resource fairs, and produce program materials such as brochures or flyers.
  • Provide ongoing counseling in areas such as life skills, financial management, public assistance, and educational opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform data entry, ensuring program documentation, reports, and compliance information are timely and complete.
  • Support participants in applications for grants, scholarships, job placement, and testing as part of their personal and career development.
  • Manage FSS escrow accounts, including monitoring earnings and processing payouts, while evaluating participant progress annually.
  • Track program performance and participant outcomes, analyzing trends and developing systems to ensure continued improvement and impact.
  • Promote program visibility and integrity, uphold confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and pursue grant opportunities to enhance FSS services.




Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public housing, counseling, or social work (or equivalent combination)
  • Fair Housing & Reasonable Accommodation Certifications (within 1 year of hire)
  • FSS Specialist Certification (within 6 months of hire)
