Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in the financial industry with a fundamental understanding of bank services and operations preferred. Understanding of core investment products including fixed and variable annuities and mutual funds preferred. State Life & Health insurance licenses required. SUMMARY: The Licensed Sales Specialist is responsible for providing support services for assigned advisor(s) in defined territory(ies), and also works as a team member with the Financial Advisor to provide investment and insurance solutions to bank and non-bank customers based on a financial planning approach and offers WesBanco Securities solutions and limited WesBanco Trust solutions under the supervision of WesBanco Wealth Management. Duties also include administrative tasks, business processing, executing trades for clients within scope of their authority, customer service interaction, client prospecting, and appointment scheduling for the advisor. The Licensed Sales Specialist provides ongoing coaching and training to branch staff regularly on WesBanco Securities referrals, and their role is essential to maintaining and expanding the advisor's business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prospects clients by letter or phone on behalf of the advisor to establish business relationships. Profiles clients and recommends suitable investment and insurance solutions. Provides a great client experience to all clients and prospects. Opens investments and insurance accounts. Manages and monitors customer service requests, transfers, exchanges, and/or any transactions processed on behalf of the clients. Participates in seminars, branch training and community events in support of WesBanco Securities. Coaches and trains branch employees on making referrals. Supports retail and other divisions in cross referring clients for bank offered services. Answers incoming calls, managing requests or directing to appropriate parties. Maintains and establishes all customer files. Opens accounts (as licensing permits) in advisor's absence. Presents limited products and writes business under supervision of the advisor. Reviews all applications for completeness before submission. Processes and tracks all written business, and sends required documents, updates, and other correspondence to clients. Processes and monitors all account transfers. Manages customer inquiries. Manages client requests for distributions on accounts, or service issues as needed. Participates in seminars, branch training and community events in support of Securities. Makes outbound calls to existing clients, prospects, and referrals to schedule appointments. Ability to overcome objections when seeking an appointment. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Banking is a highly regulated industry, and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner. Investment Sales in a banking environment is highly regulated and the advisor is expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's and FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. The licensed sales specialist will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner. Ability to interact professionally with Bank business partners and customers. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to manage travel to assigned offices. Must possess proven sales skills, be initiative-taking and generate opportunities. Possess clear, concise, effective written and oral communication skills to effectively express thoughts, ideas and concepts to Bank employees and bank customers. Ability to perform general clerical duties and operate various departmental equipment. Possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with bank partners at all levels of the company. Ability to be initiative-taking and generate business is essential, in addition to cultivating relationships with branch employees and partners.
