Job Description

Position Summary
The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking a Director of Football Cap Management and Strategy to lead a comprehensive and strategic recruiting operation for its nationally ranked NCAA Division I Football Program.

Reporting to the Head Football Coach, this position will play a pivotal role in guiding all aspects of the recruiting process, including prospect evaluation, recruiting logistics, roster and scholarship management, and data analytics. The director will work closely with coaching staff, recruiting personnel, compliance, and athletic administration to ensure strategic alignment and regulatory compliance, while also adapting to the evolving collegiate athletics landscape-including the NCAA Transfer Portal and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Key Responsibilities

1. Roster, Scholarship, and Cap Planning (40%)
* Support multi-year roster construction planning and monitor eligibility, positional balance, and class distribution.
* Manage scholarship allocation modeling and track roster limits in coordination with the Compliance Office.
* Collaborate with staff to align roster planning with recruiting and personnel decisions.
* Review, monitor and provide guidance on cap management.

2. Talent Evaluation and Scouting Operations (30%)
* Identify, evaluate, review, and track prospective student-athletes across all recruiting classes.
* Lead talent assessments using scouting services, video review, in-person evaluation, and advanced analytics.
* Maintain internal databases, depth charts, and player ratings to inform recruiting strategy.
* Provide regular updates to coaching staff on positional needs and recruiting board movement.

3. Recruiting Strategy and Calendar Management (25%)
* Develop and coordinate the annual recruiting calendar in compliance with NCAA and SEC guidelines.
* Organize and oversee all aspects of recruiting visits (official/unofficial), on-campus events, and travel logistics.
* Serve as the primary contact for regional area assignments and recruiting territory strategy.

4. Recruiting Infrastructure and Analytics (15%)
* Oversee recruiting software platforms and digital evaluation tools (e.g., ARMS, Hudl, PFF).
* Monitor recruiting trends and national rankings; create reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
* Lead projects involving data integration, predictive analytics, and recruiting ROI measurement.

5. Compliance, NIL, and Interdepartmental Collaboration (10%)
* Ensure adherence to all NCAA, SEC, and University recruiting policies.
* Promote the University through communications with prospects and families, in compliance with regulations.
* Collaborate with NIL staff, athlete representatives, and external stakeholders to support program branding and athlete opportunities.
* Work closely with internal departments, including Compliance, Academic Support, and the Mizzou Athletics Fund.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights and Weekends as schedule needs.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience
