The Center for Asian Health (CAH), Lewis Katz School of Medicine is one of the first in the U.S. dedicated to reducing cancer and other health disparities in Asian American populations. The Center's mission is to reduce health disparities and improve health equity among Asian Americans and under-represented ethnic populations through research, training, community engagement, dissemination, and clinical support for enhancing culturally and linguistically appropriate comprehensive health services.

The Senior Research Coordinator, under direction of the Principal Investigator, coordinates and monitors the implementation of research projects, ensuring that projects achieve their goals and objectives in a timely manner. The incumbent also assists in grant writing, data analyses, manuscript and report preparation, may supervise part-time staff and graduate students, and have liaison responsibilities with CAH partners.

Essential Functions of Position



  • Supervise work of collaborating partner sites designated coordinators and peer-educators/community health educators
  • Develop project progress reports
  • Conduct community outreach, including organizing work-related community events and advocate CAH mission and programs
  • Create and implement outreach methods to increase awareness of and collaboration on CAH studies/programs
  • Promote partnerships with diverse community-based and faith-based organizations and clinical partners
  • Provide culturally relevant training to community leaders/designated staff
  • Lead project coordination with collaborating partner sites, and among internal team staff, project planning and coordination for projects in diverse communities, with team and collaborating organizations
  • Initiate collaboration relationship, acting as clinical liaison between CAH team and clinical collaborators and assist with establishing clinical collaboration procedures and communication/reporting process
  • Develop recruitment strategies and recruiting program participants
  • Deliver education and interventions to participants, based on study/program protocol
  • Tracking and reporting on project process
  • Conduct literature searching and review, participate in research manuscript development and national/regional conference presentations
  • Research data entry, analysis, and data reports assisting with health educational material development
  • Develop and initiate collaboration MOUs and developing implementation plans, or Scope of Work Agreement development
  • Participate in manuscript and presentation development and assists with website and social media development


Experience and Education

Bachelor's Degree in related field and at least two years of experience, or a Master's degree and three years of experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred: working experience in racial ethnic minority communities and with all age groups including youth populations as well. Proficiency in one Asian language preferred (e.g. Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean)
