Solid Ground currently runs eight programs in suburban Ramsey and Washington Counties and housing over 660 individuals annually. Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness for families with children in the communities we serve through housing, resources, and opportunity.

Wages and Benefits

$65,000 - $70,000 annual salary range; Paid vacation time, sick time, plus ten paid holidays and two floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance; health savings account (HSA), and options for flexible spending accounts (FSA). There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short and long-term disability insurance. SG sponsors a retirement plan with automatic enrollment at 3% and a 3% employer match after one year of service, plus immediate vesting.

Schedule

This position is hybrid and requires at least 2 days per week in the office.

A typical day in the life...

A typical day as Solid Ground's Scattered Site Program Manager provides an opportunity to supervise staff and services of our HomeAgain, HomeFront and HomeSafe scattered site housing programs, which assist families that experience or are at imminent risk of homelessness in regaining stability and self-reliance. Responsibilities will include the following:



  • Directing participant recruitment procedures.
  • Serving as liaison with the CoC and other contract/funding sources to recruit eligible families for Solid Ground housing.
  • Reviewing eligibility documentation and approving or denying all applicants for housing.
  • Overseeing staff coordination of applications, move-ins/move-outs, and administration of rental assistance for all program units.
  • Reviewing and approving monthly rental subsidies for program participants and communicating changes to the Director of Finance as needed.
  • Conduct regular case reviews with the HomeAgain, HomeFront and HomeSafe staff.
  • Overseeing child and youth programming.
  • Providing assistance and guidance to other Program Managers.
  • Being available to problem-solve participant and landlord issues.
  • Overseeing program budgets and tracking spending, ensuring expenditures stay within guidelines and making changes as necessary.
  • Ensuring staff are maintaining timely and accurate participant files and developing clear Goal Plans with each participant at least every 6 months to identify and document goals and progress.
  • Reviewing client files, HMIS reports, and participant outcomes to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Compiling statistics needed for reports to funders and the agency.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in program evaluation.
  • Supervising direct service staff for the HomeAgain, HomeFront and HomeSafe programs.
  • Meeting with each program staff member at least bi-weekly for supervision.



Who You Are



  • You hold a bachelor's degree in human services, social work, or a related field, and you have at least five years of experience in a social service advocacy position, including at least one year of supervision experience; or you bring a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
  • You hold or are working towards relevant licensure (LSW, MSW preferred).
  • You demonstrate knowledge of the human services nonprofit sector; experience working in a nonprofit setting is preferred.
  • You understand and demonstrate commitment to the Housing First philosophy and trauma-informed practice.
  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in your work.
  • You have knowledge of poverty, domestic violence, mental illness, chemical dependency, affordable housing, and other issues that impact program participants, and you have the ability to use this knowledge to help ensure programs and services are responsive to participant needs.
  • You have the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently to complete work in a timely and productive manner.
  • You are skilled in motivational interviewing.
  • You communicate clearly and persuasively in both oral and written formats, whether in one-on-one interactions or group settings.
  • You understand rental housing laws and demonstrate the ability to help participants locate affordable housing.
  • You know local community resources-or are able to quickly learn them-to better support participants.
  • You demonstrate knowledge of how to manage and maintain a program budget.
  • You are able to travel to various locations for daytime and evening meetings and events.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Solid Ground's driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
