PURPOSE OF POSITION: This is not your typical call center help desk role. As an IT Support Technician at Deer Valley, you'll enjoy a dynamic environment that includes sunshine, snowstorms, skiing, and screens. You'll support a wide range of technologies-from RFID ski gates and credit card gateways to SQL clusters and digital signage. This role is the first line of triage for helpdesk support and transitions into project-based work during quieter periods. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and eager to learn about all aspects of our IT operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Support & Troubleshooting
  • Serve as the first point of contact for helpdesk support requests; triage and resolve issues efficiently with detailed documentation.
  • Support, configure, and maintain Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across a wide range of systems including RFID gates, webcams, business applications, and network infrastructure.
  • Provide empathetic, clear communication to end users with varying levels of technical knowledge.

Infrastructure & Systems Maintenance
  • Perform low-voltage wiring, including network cable termination and fiber splicing.
  • Relocate and reconfigure hardware with attention to cable management and workspace organization.
  • Assist with data center hardware, cabling, and power management.
  • Support enterprise systems including Active Directory, file services, and Microsoft 365.

Collaboration & Project Work
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues.
  • Participate in project-based work during low-volume support periods.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and documentation.

Environment & Availability
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including variable mountain weather conditions.
  • Ability to ski or travel between resort locations as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations; weekend and holiday availability required.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in variable mountain weather conditions.
  • Ability to ski or travel between resort locations as needed.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Mac systems in an Active Directory environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including Wi-Fi, switching, and cabling.
  • Experience with data center hardware, cabling, and power management.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification or similar.

Working Conditions
  • Environment: Indoor and outdoor work in a mountain resort setting.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and move equipment, ski or travel between resort locations, and work in varying weather conditions.
