VP, Global Sales Engineering & Professional Services

Description

We are looking for a strategic, leads from the front, leader for our global Sales Engineering (SE) and Professional Services (PS) team. This individual will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and be responsible for leading and evolving our Sales Engineering and Professional Services teams to the next level.

The teams you will lead has a broad range of cross-platform technical support, PC OEM endpoint and cybersecurity expertise. You will optimize Absolute's services capabilities and grow services revenue through creative, outcome-driven engagements that are tightly integrated with our go-to-market motions as well as work with a team of SE's that are an integral part of a solution selling team on assigned opportunities, delivering high-quality technical consultation and support throughout the sales cycle. This team regularly engages with assigned strategic customers & our Channel partners (PC OEMs and VARs) to provide quarterly technical reviews, product updates, and consultation to help sustain and expand our footprint in these accounts.

The VP will be a highly effective executive partner operating cross functionally with key stakeholders in Sales, Engineering and Product to understand requirements, identify areas for improvement and design solutions to drive internal decision making. The leader for this function gets excited about rolling up their sleeves as an action-oriented leader who is looking to add value to our evolving technical capabilities whilst underpinning recommendations and initiatives with commercial acumen.

Drawing on your extensive cybersecurity background, you will define services that deliver positive business outcomes, specifically focused on endpoint security use cases. Additionally, you will be a solutions consulting presence in the field, supporting our sales teams in customer meetings and leading consultative, solutions-oriented workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the vision & strategy for the Sales Engineering and Professional Services function
  • Overall functional ownership of Absolute's service offerings and services revenue targets
  • Creating and/or collaborating on services proposals, SOWs, POCs, and RFPs/RFIs
  • Develop, retain, recruit, and train top talent
  • Escalation point for project/customer issues
  • Standardize common service delivery tools/infrastructure
  • Rationalize project artifacts and consulting tools
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. Sales, Sales Engineering, Product Management, Product Development, Marketing)
  • Assist team in working with other customer and internal Support/R&D organizations.
  • Collaborate on service delivery infrastructure - including PS automation platform, activity-tracking, document management, and customer collaboration tools
  • Partner with Sales leaders to align our technical team with our go-to-market strategy.
  • Drive a culture of excellence and continuous improvement and learning which includes adopting cybersecurity best practices and certifications
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by working cross functionally to ensure a smooth experience through the entire process
  • Work with and deliver support to our customers key decision makers
  • Contribute to Absolute's internal visibility, corporate knowledge, and best practices by enhancing sales information, documentation, business processes, and methodologies.
  • 50% travel estimated to customer sites and Absolute events globally
  • Protect the security and privacy of Absolute and its customers.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience of managing a global & world-class SE and PS team
  • Demonstrable technical acumen
  • The ability to coach and lead this global SE/PS team and constantly strive for excellence
  • Proven professionalism and experience presenting to Security professionals and key business leaders
  • Previous experience providing technical sales support for SaaS/Cloud based technology solutions
  • Experience with software deployment technologies, and a strong understanding of corporate networking environments and configurations.
  • Domain knowledge of IT End Point Security and Management products and best practices, such as anti-virus, encryption, DLP
  • Setup/administration skills for operating systems including Microsoft Windows, and Mac O/S.
  • Architectural and configuration knowledge of TCP/IP based networks and perimeter network devices (router, firewall, proxy servers, IDS, IPS)
  • Formal technical training expected, especially in areas of network, security and end point administration
