Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
As our Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing the sales and distribution of Ohaus products throughout a specified region. You will maintain effective dealer relations, develop opportunities for growth within the assigned territory, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Meeting and exceeding sales quota by increasing sales to existing customers, securing new businesses, finding opportunities, following up on leads, and creating marketing initiatives.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of the industry, our customers, and our competitors.
  • Traveling throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers.
  • Responsible for training and working with our distributor partners to develop and close sales opportunities by providing product demonstrations and emphasizing unique selling points.
  • Quoting prices and preparing sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Submitting weekly and monthly reports, such as activity reports, sales call reports, expense reports, and other documentation of sales performance within the region.
  • Entering new and updated customer data and other sales data into SAP.
  • Attending trade shows, organizing and implementing Ohaus participation in regional and private shows, and participating as Ohaus representative in National Trade Shows and other events.
  • Advising management of marketplace information, such as distributor problems, product problems, changes in dealer organization structure, market perception, competitive products, and market fluctuations.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Study in the life sciences is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year, ideally 3-5 years of sales experience within the laboratory, industrial, scientific, or education markets.
  • Ability to travel overnight at least 50%. Ideal location within Texas in the Dallas or Houston areas.
