Job Summary

The Maintenance Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the maintenance activities of machinery and equipment used in aggregate production. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing production quality.

Hourly Rate: $43.95

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance mechanics in performing repairs and maintenance on aggregate production equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, and other heavy machinery
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, coordinating repairs and ensuring compliance with safety standards
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and supplies, and coordinate procurement as necessary
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
  • Collaborate with other departments, including production and quality control, to support operational goals
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies regarding equipment operation and maintenance
Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanical maintenance is preferred
  • Extensive experience in heavy equipment maintenance, particularly in the aggregate or construction industry
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, balance, and climb
  • Good vision (wither naturally or with correction)
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a routine basis
  • Able to work in wet and dry conditions and extreme heat and cold
  • Work in an environment that may include mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises requiring the consistent use of proper PPE
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
  • Work overtime and various shifts times as required
  • Weekend work as required to meet customer demands
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment as necessary
