Job Title: Culinary Driver

FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Food Service Director

Schedule: varies - 40hrs/week
Supervises: N/A

Rate of Pay: $21/hr

Closing Date: 08/18/2025

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Function:

The position is responsible for pickups and deliveries of food items and food from DMSS Culinary Kitchen at Harbor Light, and delivery to program sites within the Denver Metro and Aurora areas. This position requires weekend work. This position performs daily tasks, including documentation, inventory, sorting, and providing customer service to the Salvation Army staff and vendors. Must be professional in appearance and demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Safely and efficiently make pickups and deliveries as required.
2. Maintain ongoing professional relationships in all interpersonal contact (note confidentiality requirements).
3. Complete assigned work with courtesy and respect, as our public contact affected the total program.
4. Maintain appropriate documentation of all contacts, visits, problems, resources needed and provided.
5. Keep accurate and fully filled-out records and receipts and turn them in as soon as possible.
6. Assist in the internal processing and distribution of goods, handling all food items in compliance with safe food handling procedures.
7. Put all food items into storage as instructed and assist in the preparation of sack meals.
8. Provide general operational and maintenance support for vehicles/equipment (i.e., cleaning vehicles, assisting with the moving of material, etc.).
9. Attending all staff meetings assigned.
10. Always be mindful of his/her role as a representative of TSA. This includes being sensitive to the needs of those we serve and those with whom we work.
11. Assist with loading the meals.

Qualification and Education Requirements:

  • Driving

    • This position requires driving:

      • A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver's license is required.
      • An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
      • A clean driving record


    • Background Check

      • Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies






Education and Work Experience:
Education and/or work experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities required.



  • Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and be responsible for following all guidelines of the food handler's manual.
  • The individual must show respect for other employees, associates, clients, and the goals and objectives of The Salvation Army.


Physical Requirements:
Ability to maneuver. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written information. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
