Job Title: Senior Statutory Accountant Division: Finance Reports To: US Controller Key Relationships: Head of North American External Reporting; Head of US Finance; US Tax Manager; Senior Financial Analyst; Compliance Analyst Job Summary: The Senior Statutory Accountant will be a key member of the finance team. The primary responsibilities of the position will be statutory reporting coupled with financial analysis, research, and technical expertise. The position will be primarily responsible in ensuring the integrity of statutory financial information and reports. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file accurate and timely quarterly and annual statutory financial statements for multiple legal entities.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory filings and data calls to state insurance departments and other regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and monitor changes in SAPs and regulatory requirements to assess their impact.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulators during statutory audits and examinations.
- Support internal management reporting and provide insights into statutory financial performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain financial internal controls over statutory financial reporting in compliance with the NAIC Model Audit Rule (MAR)
- Collaborate with internal teams including Tax, GAAP Reporting, and Compliance to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Support of ad hoc projects, including process improvements and system enhancements, and other tasks, as assigned by the Controller

This may include, amongst others, Beazley's underwriting control standards, Beazley's claims control standards, other Beazley standards and customer relationship management.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.
Personal Specification: Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 5 Years' Minimum Accounting experience, preferably in the property-casualty insurance industry
- Corporate Statutory Accounting experience preferable

- Technical accounting knowledge including experience documenting and researching technical accounting answers required

- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)

Salary for this role will be tailored to the successful individual's location and experience. The expected compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $117,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus. Don't meet all the requirements?
