Provides technical advice and expertise to systems development project groups in defining, developing, and reviewing existing, as well as proposed applications, for major computer systems; coordinates the activities between users, technicians, computer, and communication networks.

Essential Functions

  • Experience with large scale pub/sub and messaging environments (Apache Pulsar, Kafka, Tibco EMS, RedHat AMQ) Hands-on experience deploying Apache Pulsar at scale
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes concepts, components, and APIs
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies (Podman, containerd) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Helm) Java programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Skilled in one or more programming languages used by FedEx.
  • Strong human relations and communications skills. If position is in mainframe environment, also requires complex systems experience on IBM operating systems or microprocessors.
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles.
  • Coordinates the activities between users, technicians, computer, and communication networks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skilled in one or more programming languages used by FedEx. Knowledge and experience with distributed systems, client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development, and/or case tools.

Domicile Information:

This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree/equivalent in computer science, math, or other directly related quantitative degree.

Minimum Experience:

Five (5) years related development and programming experience.

Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects.

LMS experience. If position is in client/server environment, also requires systems development experience.

Must include experience with distributed systems.

Experience in client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development, or case tools.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
