Wednesday - Saturday | 5 PM - 5 AM

*Must be flexible as schedules may change

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in a logistics or shipping/receiving role
• The ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Experience with inventory software and Microsoft applications

Material Specialist Responsibilities

• Perform turnover with outgoing shift, to include locomotive by loco rundown, review material needs for each locomotive and status of materials, understand shop flow and expectations of the oncoming shift, review incoming trucks and shipments, and any/all materials status updates.
• Pulling material from the warehouse for shop use.
• Conduct weekly stockouts.
• Perform daily cycle counts to address inventory inconsistencies.
• Assist with the forecasting of material needs for inbound and in-shop locomotives.
• Ensure quality control processes for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Run reports on various inventory metrics, process sales of material, and retrieve repair cycle assets from the shop floor.
• Perform general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the warehouse, as well as processing warranty claims and conducting daily counts of large commodity assets.
