Lead Travel Technician - Nationwide Projects (Based in Nashville)
Client: TEKsystems' Client Status: Contract-to-Hire | Full-Time | Heavy Overtime Available TEKsystems' client is on the hunt for a Lead Travel Technician to take charge of commercial low-voltage installations across the U.S. This is a 100% travel role with a home base in Nashville, ideal for someone who thrives on the road and takes pride in delivering high-quality, efficient work. What You'll Be Doing: As the lead technician, you'll oversee 1-3 techs on-site, guiding the full installation process-from conduit and cabling to complex security systems. You'll ensure every project meets top-tier standards and wraps up on time. Your day-to-day will include: * Installing, terminating, and testing Cat6, fiber, coax, and other structured cabling systems. * Mounting and configuring security cameras, access points, fire alarm hardware, and access panels. * Building out cable pathways, server racks, and interpreting blueprints to avoid obstructions and comply with NEC low-voltage codes. * Testing and troubleshooting all systems to ensure flawless performance. What You'll Need: * Your own hand tools, cordless drills, and punch tools. * Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, structured cabling, and security infrastructure. * Ability to lead a small team and make on-the-fly decisions with confidence. * A self-starting, dependable attitude with a sharp eye for detail. TEKsystems' client will provide all consumables, specialized training, and access credentials as needed. Bonus Points For: * A desire to transition into a permanent role after the contract period. * Strong communication and organizational skills. * A passion for delivering clean, professional installations. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
