DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, your role will involve taking the lead in overseeing the daily operations of food service within the correctional facility. This includes assigning tasks to inmates, actively participating in their execution, and reviewing both routine and specialized activities related to food preparation, production, service, and baking. You will play a crucial role in maintaining order and safety by enforcing custody and security protocols, ensuring that all food service areas, equipment, and food items adhere to established safety and sanitation standards. Regular inspections will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you work to uphold the highest levels of hygiene and compliance within the food service environment, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being of both inmates and staff. - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours to be determined
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
