Job Overview

The Director, Facility Operations provides a high level of leadership and guidance to the Operations Management in multiple areas of the facility to ensure all facility and organizational goals and objectives are achieved. They direct the day-to-day Inbound and/or Outbound operations, coordinating and overseeing the operation of the entire facility in collaboration with Finance, Human Resources, Systems, and business partners (merchant partners, carriers, and vendors).

What You Will Do



  • Oversee financial, operational, safety, and service performance of the entire fulfillment center.
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies such as driving results through others, achieving innovation, developing high-performing teams, and holding others accountable.
  • Cultivate and maintain a work culture focused on engaging all associates and delivering superior customer service, while ensuring adherence to procedures and metrics for customer satisfaction.
  • Manage organizational change associated with growth.
  • Lead all operations departments to support company profit objectives and customer service goals.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to anticipate staffing needs based on volume plans (daily, weekly, and monthly). Develop and utilize staffing tools to project staffing needs according to changes in business demand. Address noncompliance situations as needed based on reports.
  • Ensure departments meet or exceed performance requirements in safety, cost control, quality, processing standards, flexibility, reliability, customer service, and execution to plan.
  • Analyze work processes to identify opportunities for optimization and implement improvements.
  • Manage all aspects of inventory control.
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to track department progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and shortage control by enforcing proper procedures and company policies.
  • Promote a safe work environment for staff by developing and enforcing safe work practices.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • Demonstrate regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.


Skills You Will Need

Leadership: Ability to provide high-level leadership and guidance to operations management, driving results through others, and developing high-performing teams.

Strategic Thinking: Capacity to oversee the entire fulfillment center's financial, operational, safety, and service performance while managing organizational change associated with growth.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to practice open and continuous communication, present information clearly and concisely, and effectively communicate with subordinates, peers, and senior management.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, solve problems directly, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Team Management and Development: Skill in managing and developing direct reports, conducting performance reviews, and providing candid and timely feedback to build trust and support individual growth and performance excellence.

Collaboration: Capacity to collaborate with various departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Systems, and business partners to ensure operational success.

Process Improvement: Aptitude for analyzing work processes, identifying optimization opportunities, and implementing improvements.

Strategic Planning: Proficiency in effectively planning and executing strategies to meet organizational goals and objectives.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility as a team player.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 50 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs.
