The Solution Architect for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) is a strategic technical leader, responsible for designing, developing, and guiding the implementation of robust and scalable application architectures within the D365 F&O platform.

Operating at the interface of technology and business, the Solution Architect collaborates closely with Finance, IT, and executive teams to deliver flexible, secure, and high-performing solutions. This position demands deep technical expertise in D365 F&O, a holistic understanding of application lifecycle management, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Design
  • Lead the design and development of architectures for D365 F&O to meet both current and future business needs.
  • Create detailed architectural documentation, application models, and integration patterns in line with enterprise standards.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into resilient, scalable, and secure D365 F&O configurations and customizations.
  • Oversee and optimize integrations between D365 F&O and other applications including third-party solutions.
  • Balance standard platform functionality with custom development, leveraging X++, extensions, and Azure technologies as appropriate.
Implementation
  • Perform gap analyses and propose technical solutions to bridge business needs and system capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the D365 F&O application implementation lifecycle, including design, configuration, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Work closely with analysts, developers, project managers, and IT personnel to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery.
  • Define and enforce application standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Direct system configuration, including data models, business rules, user security, and workflow automation within D365 F&O.
  • Validate and review customizations, extensions, and integrations for maintainability, scalability, and adherence to architectural best practices.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Stay current with D365 F&O releases, features, and emerging technologies, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance application architecture.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize processes and automate workflows using advanced D365 F&O capabilities.
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the application and IT teams.
  • Monitor application performance, usage, and compliance, recommending architectural or process enhancements as needed.
  • Mentor and support team members in developing application architecture competencies.
  • Ensure all designs and changes adhere to organizational security, governance, and regulatory requirements, including SOX.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in development and application architecture, focusing on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
  • Proven experience leading at least 2 full-cycle D365 F&O implementations; experience with complex, large-scale, or multi-entity environments preferred.
  • Microsoft D365 certification: Microsoft Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (MB-700).
  • Advanced skills in X++, data modeling, Power Platform, and Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines.
  • Expertise in configuring D365 user security, workflows, and business process automation.
  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks, including Scrum, and experience with project management tools such as ADO and JIRA.
  • Prior experience with integrations between D365 F&O and other enterprise platforms (e.g., CRM, data warehouse, HRIS).
  • Experience with SOX compliance, internal control, and audit processes.

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
