Job Title: QA Oversight Representative

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated QA Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and implementing Test and Inspection Plans for various projects, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role involves conducting in-process work surveillances, safety surveillances, and final work-package reviews upon project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

- Establish basic Test and Inspection Plans for projects.

- Perform in-process work and safety surveillances.

- Conduct final work-package reviews after project completion.

- Execute internal audits to monitor compliance with company procedures.

- Perform external audits to evaluate supplier suitability.

- Prepare Corrective Action Requests and Preventative Action Requests related to production work.

- Assist Program Managers, Project Managers, and Supervisors/Foreman in understanding NAVSEA Standard Item and customer-related requirements.

- Contribute to the development of written procedures and documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.

- Experience in conducting audits and inspections.

- Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Item and related requirements.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Proficient in preparing documentation and reports.

Requirements

Travel: Must be able to travel for extended periods of time (85%)

Job Training: Safety, Quality Assurance and NAVSEA Standards for shipboard work.

Certifications: Quality Assurance Inspector, Quality Assurance Auditor (preferred), NACE/NBPI (desired), NDT Level II VT, PT, MT, UTT (desired).

Base Access: Must be able to obtain and maintain access to U.S Military bases and shipyards for performance of job duties.

Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.

Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years waterfront Quality Assurance experience to include Level I/SUBSAFE/SOC experience.

Bachelor's Degree may be substituted with a completed Maritime Trade School / Apprenticeship with 3 years waterfront Quality Assurance experience

OR 4 years' military service with specialized training and certifications in Quality Assurance to include Level I/SUBSAFE/SOC experience.

Bachelor's Degree/Trade School/Military Service may be substituted with GED minimal education and specialized training and certifications in Quality Assurance with 5 years total waterfront experience with 3 years Quality Assurance experience to include Level I/SUBSAFE/SOC experience.

Additional Requirements:

-Knowledgeable in shipyard, maritime, and commercial work practices, quality assurance

-Knowledge of Navy ship repair processes and procedures

-Knowledge of OSHA Regulations for Shipyard Employment

-Able to conduct audits and surveillances

-Able to conduct Job Hazardous Analysis specific for tasking

-Effective problem-solving skills

-Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

-Able to lift, carry and move objects at least 25 lbs. in weight.

-Must be able to physically access ships, small craft, and submarines.
