Job Summary Under general supervision, collaborates with the Department Chair and Managing Chef to ensure top performance of Fresh Gatherings and its expansions ; coordinates the preparation and serving of meals at the cafe and at catering events; supervises cafe staff; oversees facility maintenance, inventory ordering and cost control; updates budget spreadsheets; works with dietetic interns and undergraduate students during clinical rotations; completes paperwork involved in running the cafe and precepting students. Job Duties
Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and sanitation (ability to obtain serv-safe certification). Knowledge of computerized point of sale system Knowledge of proper handling and ability to use chemical cleaning agents Ability to maintain records Ability to lift and move inventory Ability to stand and walk on hard flooring for long periods of time Ability to tolerate a wide range of room temperatures Ability to multi-task and manage several people Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree or certificate from an accredited culinary program with one (1) supplemental year of related work experience. Must willing to obtain Safety and Sanitation certification by ServSafe (or a similar program) and a Certified Culinarian from the American Culinarian Federation.
