The Smart Warehouse Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME) will serve as a technical liaison between NIWC and DLA R&D supporting DLA Distribution and Disposition warehouse modernization efforts for the broader enterprise. This role is critical to the successful integration of multiple systems into DLA's Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other logistics applications, ultimately improving efficiency and effectiveness within the DLA supply chain. The SME will also be responsible for monitoring emerging technologies pursuant to DLA-desired capabilities, managing customer and stakeholder relationships, and developing strategic briefs to support enterprise integration and modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide subject matter expertise in distribution and disposition processes and technologies to support DLA modernization initiatives.
* Provide technical guidance and strategize in the integration of various systems into DLA's Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other logistics applications, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
* Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions to optimize distribution and disposition operations.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with DLA customers and stakeholders, understanding their needs to develop technology roadmaps and site deployment prioritization.
* Develop strategic briefs and presentations to communicate recommendations, project status, and technical solutions to DLA leadership and stakeholders.
* Contribute to the development of system architectures, requirements specifications, and test plans for new and enhanced logistics systems.
* Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for improving DLA's distribution and disposition capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or relevant Engineering field.
* 15+ years of relevant technical and programmatic experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD).
* Experience with DoD acquisition processes and lifecycle, in particular, transitioning of products or services to an enterprise.
* Demonstrated experience with systems integration, particularly within a large-scale logistics environment.
* Strong understanding of distribution and disposition processes within the DoD supply chain.
* Knowledge of WMS and relevant smart warehouse systems and applications.
* Proficiency in project management methodologies and principles.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience working directly with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
* Relevant DoD/acquisition certification(s) (e.g., DAWIA).
* Relevant PM certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, etc.)
* Familiarity with DLA's enterprise architecture and data standards.
* Experience in business development and proposal writing.
* Familiarity with the following technologies or systems:
o Radio frequency identification (RFID)
o Fifth generation (5G) cellular
o Autonomous robotics
o Artificial Intelligence (AI)
o SAP WMS

Reporting Structure: NIWC SCADA IPT Lead

Location: Remote / Charleston, SC

Salary: 120k+ to align with education and experience
