Gatekeeper Your Job Gatekeeper's will provide leadership of the planning team, manage area backlogs and cost for the Pulp Machine department. The successful candidate will focus on safely improving productivity and efficiency of the maintenance planning team, improving asset reliability, and optimizing life-cycle costs of assets.

Our Team

The Alabama River Cellulose Mill is a large paper plant in Perdue Hill, Alabama. They produce fluff pulp and market pulp, which is used in the manufacturing many different paper and absorbent products.

What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership for the department to strive for excellence in safety and environmental performance
  • Develop and own the annual maintenance cost plan for the department
  • Communicate and connect employees of the department with the annual cost plans
  • Own and manage the area's maintenance backlogs including work requests, planning backlog, and executable backlog
  • Lead the prioritization effort to ensure the right work gets completed at the right time to support a stable and reliable operation
  • Lead the area maintenance planning effort including coaching and developing area planners
  • Continuously seek, identify, and eliminate high-maintenance, high-cost, or unreliable assets through better maintenance practices, capital improvements, and asset strategy optimization
  • Coordinate with Area Operations Leader and Area Reliability Leader to ensure operating plans, department goals, reliability issues, area & annual outages, and maintenance priorities are coordinated and aligned on to create the most value for the area and the mill
  • Collaborate with Area Operations Leader and Area Reliability Leader using root cause analysis tools to resolve reliability, maintenance, and operational issues
  • Provide daily support and technical expertise to the area

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in maintenance or operations and familiar with maintenance work processes
  • Experience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projects

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Pulp and paper industry experience
  • Experience working with pulp or paper machine ops and maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance practices including but not limited to lubrication, welding, precision maintenance, predictive maintenance, RCM, RCA, contractor & outage management, NDT, etc.
